How to install a WOHO XTOURING handlebar bag on your bike

Set up the WOHO XTOURING front-loading system with the handlebar harness, dry bag and Acc Pack. You will strap the harness to your bars, pack and seal the dry bag, then mount the accessory pouch for a stable load. It suits bikepackers and gravel riders with standard handlebars and a bit of clearance at the front wheel.

What you need

Steps

  1. Lay out the harness, dry bag and Acc Pack. Check every strap, buckle and bolt is present and not frayed or cracked before you start.

  2. Loosen the harness straps. Hold the harness against the handlebar just in front of the stem, keeping it centred and clear of brake and gear cables.

  3. Wrap the handlebar straps around the bar on each side of the stem. Pull them evenly and snug so the harness cannot rotate, then close the buckles.

  4. Squeeze the air out of your gear, place it in the dry bag and roll the top down at least three times. Clip the buckle so the roll stays tight.

  5. Set the rolled dry bag into the harness cradle. Tighten the side straps until the bag sits firm and does not shift when you push it.

  6. Attach the Acc Pack Dry to the front of the harness or dry bag with its straps. Keep it small and light so the steering stays neutral.

  7. Turn the bars fully left and right and press down on the fork. Check the bag never touches the front tyre and the brake levers stay clear.

  8. Check that cables and housing still move freely and are not pinched under a strap. Lift the front wheel and shake it to test the whole setup.

Tips and common mistakes

Keep heavy items low and centred in the dry bag, and save the Acc Pack for light things like snacks or a phone.

Never trap a brake or gear cable under a harness strap, since it can rub through the housing over time.

Recheck strap tension after the first few kilometres on rough ground, as new webbing settles and loosens.

Keep the bag clear of the front tyre when the fork compresses, or it can rub and wear through on descents.

Questions

Will this fit drop bars?

Yes, the harness straps around the handlebar on each side of the stem, so it works on drop bars and flat bars. Leave enough room for your hands on the tops and check lever clearance.

How much can I carry in it?

Keep the load light and bulky rather than heavy, since weight on the bars affects steering. Check your bike and harness manufacturer's stated limit before loading.

Why does my bag wobble?

Usually the harness straps are not tight enough or the dry bag is not rolled firmly. Deflate the bag, roll it tighter and retighten the side straps.
