Tips and common mistakes

Schedule send uses your account's time zone, so check the time zone setting if the send time looks wrong.

Confidential mode does not stop someone from taking a screenshot, so do not treat it as full protection.

Search operators are case sensitive in some cases; type them in lowercase to be safe.

Undo Send only works for a few seconds after sending, so set it to 30 seconds before you need it.

Questions

Can I schedule an email in the Gmail app on my phone?

Yes. Tap the three dots in the top right of the compose window and choose Schedule send, then pick a date and time.

Does Confidential Mode work for recipients outside Gmail?

Recipients get a link to read the message, and the expiration and passcode rules still apply. They do not need a Gmail account.

Where do scheduled emails wait until they send?

They sit in the Scheduled folder in the left sidebar. Open it to edit or cancel a scheduled message before it goes out.
