Tips and common mistakes

Turn on Do Not Disturb before recording so notifications do not pop up in the video.

Record in landscape if you plan to share the clip on YouTube or a TV.

Keep clips short and delete old recordings to save storage space.

Some apps block screen recording for privacy, so the video may show a black screen.

Questions

Where do screen recordings save on Android?

They usually go to your gallery in a Screen recordings or Screenshots folder. You can also find them in your file manager under Movies or DCIM.

Why is there no Screen recorder tile on my phone?

Your Android version or phone brand may not include it. Check the Quick Settings edit menu first, then look for a recorder in your phone maker's own app.

Can I record internal audio?

Many recent Android phones let you record media sound. If the option is missing, the recorder will only capture your microphone or no sound at all.
