Steps
Log in to your BillClap account and open the invoice section. Choose the option to create a new GST invoice.
Add the customer. Either pick an existing customer from your saved list or enter their name, address and GSTIN for a new one.
Add the items you are selling. Select products from your catalog or type new item names directly into the invoice.
Enter the quantity and unit price for each line item. Check that the amounts match what you agreed with the customer.
Set the correct GST rate for each item, such as 5, 12, 18 or 28 percent. BillClap calculates the tax and total for you.
Review the full invoice. Check the customer details, item quantities, prices, GST amounts and the final total before saving.
Save the invoice so it gets a bill number in your records. Then share it with the customer by download, print or email.
Tips and common mistakes
Enter the customer GSTIN exactly as registered, since a wrong number can make the invoice invalid for their tax claim.
Set the GST rate per item rather than on the whole bill, because different products can fall under different slabs.
Save each invoice before sharing so the bill number stays fixed and your sales records stay accurate.
Questions
Do I need a GSTIN to create an invoice in BillClap?
You can create a bill with customer details, but a proper GST invoice should carry your business GSTIN. Add your GSTIN in your business profile settings first.
Can I share the invoice without printing it?
Yes. After saving, use the share or download option to send a PDF copy by email or messaging apps.
What if a product is not in my catalog?
You can type a new item name directly on the invoice instead of selecting from the catalog. Add it to your catalog later if you sell it often.
