Steps
Download the Blink Home Monitor app from the App Store or Google Play and open it. Create a Blink account or sign in if you already have one.
Unpack the box and check you have the Sync Module, its power adapter and any cables. Plug the module into a power outlet near your router.
Pick a central spot on an open shelf or windowsill, away from metal objects, TVs and closed cabinets. Keep it off the router itself.
In the app, tap Add System or the plus button and choose Sync Module. The app starts the setup wizard.
Point your phone camera at the QR code on the back or bottom of the Sync Module. Hold steady until the app reads the code.
Give your new system a name, such as Home, and confirm to create it. The app then looks for the module.
Choose your Wi-Fi network and type the password. Wait while the module connects and the light turns solid blue or green.
Check the signal bars in the app. Aim for 3 or more bars, then add your cameras and test each one.
Tips and common mistakes
Place the module high and central so cameras have a clear line of sight.
Move the module away from metal shelves and microwaves if the signal drops.
One Sync Module supports up to 10 cameras within about 100 feet.
If setup fails, unplug the module for 10 seconds and run the wizard again.
Questions
Do I need the Sync Module for Blink cameras?
Yes for most Blink cameras. The Sync Module links your cameras to Wi-Fi and stores clips locally if you add a USB drive. Blink Mini cameras can work on Wi-Fi without one.
Why won't my Sync Module connect to Wi-Fi?
Most Blink devices need a 2.4 GHz network, so check your router is broadcasting one. Also make sure you typed the password correctly and the module is close to the router during setup.
Where is the QR code on the Sync Module?
It is printed on a sticker on the back or bottom of the module. If the sticker is missing, you can enter the module serial number in the app instead.
