What you need

Steps

  1. Download and print the Higher Paper 3 practice paper from the description link. Sit the whole paper in one go with a timer before you watch any answers.

  2. Mark your attempt question by question. Use the chapter timestamps to jump straight to the questions you got wrong or left blank.

  3. Start with Q1 on index laws, expanding and simplifying. Copy the full line of working, not just the final answer.

  4. Watch the calculator question and repeat the same key presses on your own Casio. Check your screen matches before moving on.

  5. For the density question, write the formula first, then substitute the values and rearrange before you divide.

  6. Redo the angles in parallel lines question. Mark the alternate, corresponding and co-interior pairs on the diagram in different colours.

  7. Work through the speed, distance, time question. Write the formula, convert the units first, then substitute.

  8. Check the converting units of area and volume question. Remember that area factors are squared and volume factors are cubed.

  9. Finish with the exponential graph question. Plot three or four points from a table, then sketch the curve through them.

Tips and common mistakes

Pause the video before each answer appears and finish the question yourself first.

Keep a list of the topics you dropped marks on, such as density or index laws, and revise those before your next paper.

Show every line of working, because method marks are easier to pick up than the final answer.

Questions

Is this the real 2026 Edexcel paper?

No. The paper is original and written by the channel, not by the exam board. It is built to match the style of Higher Paper 3 for practice only.

Where do I get the question paper?

The download link is in the video description. Print it or open it on a second screen so you can work without seeing the answers.

How long should I spend on this?

Sit the paper in one timed block first, then mark it. The walkthrough itself runs about 35 minutes, so allow around two hours in total.

This guide was drafted from the video's details and general task knowledge. It has not been checked against the full video. Check the video and relevant product instructions before following a procedure. Report a correction.
