Steps
Watch the short Get Ready and Notice sections first. They explain that this set is beginner level and that you speak with no preparation time.
Read the directions for the Take an Interview task. You will hear four connected questions and answer each one out loud for 45 seconds.
Pause at Q1, Your Favorite, and answer out loud about your favorite food. Start your timer and speak for the full 45 seconds.
Move to Q2, A Meal to Remember, and describe one meal in 45 seconds. Keep the same structure: answer, reason, example, wrap-up.
Answer Q3, Home or Eating Out, out loud for 45 seconds. Give your choice, one reason and a short personal example.
Do Q4, Your Opinion, the same way. Speak for 45 seconds without stopping or restarting.
Play the Beginner Formula and Full Answers section. Compare your answers with the sample structure and note where yours was too short or unclear.
Repeat the whole four-question set once more, this time without pausing the video. Record yourself if you can and listen back.
Tips and common mistakes
Speak for the whole 45 seconds even if you run out of ideas, since stopping early costs you points.
Use the Answer, Reason, Example, Wrap-up formula on every question so your answers stay organized.
Do not write a full script, because the real test gives you no preparation time.
Record yourself and check for long pauses and repeated words.
Questions
Do I get preparation time before answering?
No. This practice set gives you no prep time, just like the real 2026 TOEFL interview task. You hear the question and start speaking right away.
How long should each answer be?
Aim to speak for the full 45 seconds on each of the four questions. A short answer that ends early usually scores lower.
Where are the sample answers?
The video points to sample answers on the channel's blog, reached by scanning the QR code shown on screen. The last chapter also walks through the formula and full answers.
