Steps

  1. Turn the headphones on and put them in pairing mode. Hold the power or pairing button until the light flashes, then keep them within 1 metre of your PC.

  2. Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices and turn Bluetooth on. On Windows 10, use Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices instead.

  3. Remove the old entry first. Find the headphones in the list, choose Remove device, confirm, then click Add device > Bluetooth and select the headphones.

  4. Restart both devices if the scan finds nothing. Turn the headphones off, restart Windows, then turn the headphones on in pairing mode and scan again.

  5. Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter. In Windows 11, go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and click Run next to Bluetooth. Apply any fixes it offers.

  6. Check the Bluetooth Support Service. Press Windows+R, type services.msc, find Bluetooth Support Service, set Startup type to Automatic, click Start, then click Apply.

  7. Update the Bluetooth driver. Right-click Start, open Device Manager, expand Bluetooth, right-click your adapter and choose Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.

  8. If that fails, reinstall the driver. In Device Manager, right-click the adapter and choose Uninstall device, then restart the PC so Windows installs it again.

  9. Set the headphones as the output device. Open Settings > System > Sound, choose the headphones under Output, then play a test sound and adjust the volume.

Tips and common mistakes

Put the headphones in pairing mode every time. Being switched on is not enough.

Turn off Bluetooth on your phone during pairing so the headphones do not connect to it first.

Keep USB 3.0 drives and Wi-Fi routers away from the PC to reduce Bluetooth interference.

Questions

Why do my headphones show as paired but I get no sound?

Open Sound settings and set the headphones as the output device. Also disconnect your phone or any other device that may still be using them.

Do I need to reinstall Windows to fix this?

No. Try removing and re-pairing the headphones, then run the troubleshooter, check the Bluetooth service and update the driver.

Why are my headphones still not found?

Check that they are in pairing mode, charged and close to the PC. Test them with a phone to confirm the headphones themselves work.
