How to factory reset an LB-Link WR3000 or WR1100 router

A factory reset wipes the WiFi name, password and admin login on your LB-Link router and puts it back to the settings it left the box with. This guide suits anyone locked out of the admin page or handing the router on. You only need the router, its power adapter and a paperclip.

Steps

  1. Leave the router plugged in and switched on. Turn it over and find the small hole or button marked Reset or RST on the back panel.

  2. Straighten a paperclip and push the tip into the reset hole. Hold it down for about 10 seconds until the lights blink or the router restarts.

  3. Let go of the button and wait 1 to 2 minutes. The router reboots on its own and comes back with factory settings.

  4. Read the sticker on the bottom of the router. It shows the default WiFi name, the default IP address and the default admin login.

  5. Join that default WiFi network from your phone or laptop, or plug an Ethernet cable into a LAN port.

  6. Open a browser and type the default IP address from the sticker into the address bar, then press Enter.

  7. Log in with the default username and password shown on the sticker, which is usually admin for both fields.

  8. Set a new admin password, then a new WiFi name and WiFi password. Save or apply the changes and reconnect.

Tips and common mistakes

A reset erases your WiFi name, password, port forwarding and parental control rules, so note anything you want to keep first.

Use a paperclip, not a pen tip, because the reset hole is narrow and a broken pen can block it.

If your internet connection uses a PPPoE login from your provider, you will need to re-enter that username and password after the reset.

If the lights never change, unplug the router for 30 seconds, plug it back in and hold the reset button again.

Questions

What is the default password for an LB-Link router?

Most models use admin as both the username and the password. Check the sticker on the bottom of the router, since some versions use a unique password printed there.

Will I lose my internet settings after a factory reset?

Yes. The router goes back to its out-of-box state, so you must set up the WiFi name and password again. If your provider uses a PPPoE login, keep that username and password handy.

How do I know the reset worked?

The router restarts and the WiFi network name changes back to the default one on the sticker. Your old WiFi name disappears from the list of available networks.
