Steps
Place the paper upright and draw a light outline of the body trunk with a pencil. Keep it about two thirds of the page height so the organs fit inside.
Draw the mouth at the top and a straight tube down the centre for the oesophagus. Use the ruler for a clean, even line.
Sketch the stomach as a curved bean shape on the left side under the oesophagus. Keep the lines light until the shape looks right.
Draw the liver as a large triangle on the right and the small gallbladder as a small oval beneath it.
Add the small intestine as tightly coiled loops in the centre of the abdomen. Draw the loops evenly so they do not overlap.
Draw the large intestine as a wider frame around the small intestine, going up the right, across the top and down the left.
Add the rectum and anus as a short tube at the bottom centre, then draw the pancreas as a thin strip behind the stomach.
Go over the final lines with a black pen and erase the pencil guides. Keep the outlines smooth and connected.
Colour the organs lightly, using a different shade for each part so they stand out clearly.
Draw straight label lines with the ruler and write each name neatly: mouth, oesophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, small intestine, large intestine, rectum and anus.
Tips and common mistakes
Draw all shapes lightly first and darken only the final lines, so mistakes erase cleanly.
Keep the small intestine coils inside the large intestine frame or the diagram will look wrong.
Label lines should be straight and should not cross each other.
Check your textbook diagram before labelling, since exam boards expect specific names.
Questions
Do I need to draw the body outline?
No. Many class 10 answers accept the organs alone, but a light trunk outline helps show where each organ sits.
How long should the diagram take in an exam?
Aim for about 10 to 15 minutes with practice. Draw the outline first, then add labels last so you do not run out of time.
Should I colour the diagram in an exam?
Usually no. Pencil or black pen is enough for exams. Use colour only for homework or projects.
