How to create a Teams meeting with a Power Automate flow

You will build a Power Automate instant cloud flow that creates a Microsoft Teams meeting for you, with a join link, start and end times and invited attendees. It suits Microsoft 365 users who schedule the same kind of meeting often and want to stop filling in the form by hand. You need a work account with Teams and Power Automate access.

What you need

Steps

  1. Sign in to Power Automate at make.powerautomate.com with the same Microsoft 365 work account you use for Teams.

  2. Click Create, choose Instant cloud flow, give it a name, pick the Manually trigger a flow trigger and click Create.

  3. Click New step, search for Microsoft Teams and select the Create a teams meeting action.

  4. Fill in the Subject, Required attendees and Optional attendees fields with email addresses, and add a short Message.

  5. Set Start time and End time with expressions rather than typed dates. Use utcNow() to start now and addHours(utcNow(),1) for a one hour meeting.

  6. Check the Time zone field and the Calendar field so the meeting lands on the right calendar at the right local time.

  7. Click Save, then click Test, choose Manually and run the flow to check that every field is accepted.

  8. Open the Teams Calendar and confirm the new meeting shows the correct time, attendees and join link.

Tips and common mistakes

Expression times are in UTC, so subtract or add your offset, or set the Time zone field to your local zone.

If the flow rejects your dates, wrap them in formatDateTime() so the value matches the format the action expects.

Type attendee emails in full and separate multiple addresses with semicolons.

Test with your own address first so a wrong time or date only reaches you.

Questions

Does this create a recurring meeting?

No. The Create a teams meeting action makes a single meeting each time the flow runs. For a series, run the flow on a schedule or build the recurrence yourself.

Will attendees get an invite?

Yes. Anyone listed as a required or optional attendee receives the meeting invitation, and the meeting appears on the organizer's calendar.

Can I use a personal Microsoft account?

No. The Teams connector needs a work or school account that has a Teams licence and Power Automate access.
