What you need

Steps

  1. Unpack the box and check the parts: bread pan, kneading blade, yeast dispenser, raisin and nut dispenser, measuring cup, measuring spoon, ice cream container and stirring blade.

  2. Lock the bread pan into the machine and push the kneading blade firmly onto the shaft in the base of the pan.

  3. Add the water and other liquids first, then the flour, salt and sugar. Keep the salt away from where the yeast will go.

  4. Spoon the yeast into the yeast dispenser and put raisins or nuts in the raisin and nut dispenser, up to the marked line.

  5. Close the lid, plug in and choose a bread, cake or dough programme on the control panel. Press start, or set the delay timer if you want the loaf ready later.

  6. When the programme finishes, lift the pan out with oven gloves, loosen the loaf with a spatula and turn it out onto a rack.

  7. For ice cream, freeze the container ahead, fit the stirring blade, pour in your chilled mixture, pick the ice cream, sorbet or frozen yoghurt setting and start.

  8. Let everything cool, then wash the pan, blade and dispensers in warm soapy water. Wipe the machine body with a damp cloth and never dunk it in water.

Tips and common mistakes

Freeze the ice cream container flat and upright so the mixture freezes evenly.

Keep the yeast dry and away from the salt and liquids, or the loaf will not rise.

Fill the dispensers only to the marked line so the lid shuts and the contents drop in at the right time.

Always use oven gloves when you take the pan out, as both the pan and the machine get very hot.

Questions

Do I need to buy any extra parts?

No. The bread pan, kneading blade, dispensers, measuring cup and spoon, ice cream container and stirring blade all come in the box.

Can I make bread and ice cream at the same time?

No. The machine runs one programme at a time, so bake your loaf first and churn the ice cream afterwards.

Where do I find recipes for the machine?

Panasonic publishes recipes online and in the Panasonic Kitchen+ app, including breads, cakes, doughs, sorbets and frozen yoghurt.
