What you need
Steps
Check that your phone supports eSIM, then install the KR.One app from Google Play. Do this a day or two before you leave, while you are on Wi-Fi.
Open the app and tap Start setup on the home screen, or tap Setup plan on your order confirmation screen.
Tap Continue on the setup pop-up, then tap Allow when the phone asks for permission. Setup takes about a minute.
Wait for setup to finish. KR.One is now installed on your phone and ready for a plan.
When you land, open Settings, then Connections, then SIM manager. Select your eSIM and switch it on.
Tap Mobile data and choose your eSIM as the data SIM.
Go back to Settings, then Connections, then Mobile networks, and switch on Data roaming.
When you get home, open Settings, then Connections, then SIM manager, select the eSIM and switch it off.
Tap Mobile data, set it back to your regular SIM, and check that your normal SIM is selected.
Tips and common mistakes
On a Google Pixel or other Android phone, the eSIM settings sit under Network & Internet instead of Connections.
Switch the eSIM off at home but do not delete it. It stays on your phone for your next plan.
Set up the eSIM before you travel so you are not stuck without data at the airport.
If you set up from the website with a QR code instead, follow the separate QR code guide.
Questions
Do I need a new eSIM for every trip?
No. You install KR.One once per phone and add a plan for each new trip. The same eSIM stays on your phone.
Why is there no data after I land?
Check that the eSIM is switched on in SIM manager, that Mobile data is set to the eSIM, and that Data roaming is on.
Should I delete the eSIM when I get home?
No. Just switch it off and set Mobile data back to your regular SIM. Deleting it means setting it up again next time.
