What you need
Steps
Start with clean, moisturised skin. Apply a thin layer of illuminating primer all over your face and let it settle for a minute before makeup.
Draw the foundation stick in short strokes on your cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. Blend with a damp sponge or brush for light, even coverage.
Tap concealer under your eyes and on any spots, then pat it in with your ring finger or a small brush. Don't rub.
Sweep blush onto the apples of your cheeks and blend up toward your temples. Use a light hand so it looks natural.
Swipe a taupe eyeshadow stick across your lids and smudge the edges with your finger. Add a little under the lower lash line for depth.
Dust bronzer along your jawline, temples and the sides of your nose. Blend well so there are no hard lines.
Apply a cream sculpt stick just under your cheekbones and blend. Then add highlighter to the tops of your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose.
Line your upper lash line with brown eyeliner and smudge it slightly. Follow with one or two coats of mascara on top and bottom lashes.
Set your T-zone with a light layer of travel-size powder. Line and fill your lips, then add gloss for a soft finish.
Finish with a few sprays of setting spray about 20 cm from your face. Let it dry before you head out.
Tips and common mistakes
Keep products in stick and cream form so they pack flat and you can blend them with your fingers.
Use less foundation than you think you need. Light layers look more natural and last better in heat.
Pack brushes in a small pouch so they don't crush or pick up dirt in your bag.
Spray setting spray before mascara fully dries only if you want a softer look, otherwise wait a minute.
Questions
Can I do this look without all the listed products?
Yes. Primer, foundation, blush, mascara and lip gloss are enough for a basic version. Add bronzer and highlighter if you want more definition.
Will this makeup last on a long flight?
Light layers plus setting powder and setting spray help it last. Cream products tend to wear better on dry cabin air than heavy powder.
Do I need special travel brushes?
No. Any small brush set works. A foundation brush, blush brush, blending brush and a small powder brush cover most of this look.
