What you need
Steps
Clear a space and lay out your mat. Keep a dumbbell nearby if you plan to use the weighted versions of the moves.
Start with reverse crunches. Lie on your back, lift your hips off the mat and bring your knees toward your chest, then lower slowly.
Rest for about 20 seconds, then do bicycle crunches. Alternate elbow to opposite knee at a steady pace.
After the rest, do heel taps. Lie on your back with knees bent and reach each hand down to tap the same-side heel.
Rest, then do tuck ups or V ups. Pull your knees in and lift your shoulders, or reach for your toes in a full V up.
Move on to flutter kicks. Keep your lower back pressed down and kick your legs in small alternating lifts.
Rest, then hold a plank on your forearms. Keep a straight line from head to heels and squeeze your abs.
Do Russian twists. Sit with knees bent, lean back slightly and rotate your torso side to side.
In round two, hold a plank again, then do side planks with hip dips on each side.
Finish with Spiderman planks. From a push up position, bring one knee toward the same-side elbow and alternate.
Tips and common mistakes
Use the weighted version only when the bodyweight move feels controlled for all reps.
Keep breathing through every hold and avoid holding your breath during planks.
Stop if you feel sharp lower back pain and check that your back stays flat during leg lifts.
Questions
Do I need weights for this ab workout?
No. Every move has a bodyweight version. Add a dumbbell only if you want the harder weighted option.
How long is each exercise?
Each move runs for about 30 seconds with a short rest between. The full circuit takes around 10 minutes.
Can I do this every day?
Give your core a rest day between sessions. Two or three sessions a week is a common starting point.
