What you need
Steps
Open your browser and go to the free HEIC to JPG converter site, for example iArtImg. No account or install is needed.
Click the blue Select Images button to open your file picker.
Browse to the folder holding your HEIC photos. Hold Shift and click each file to pick several at once, then click Open.
Check the selected file list. The site may not show thumbnails, so confirm the file names and count look right.
Click the blue Convert to JPEG button and wait a few seconds for the site to process the batch.
When multiple files are converted, the site packs them into a zip file. If the download does not start, click the download link.
Double-click the downloaded zip file to unpack it. Inside is a folder named converted holding your JPGs.
Open the converted folder and check that each file now ends in.jpg instead of.heic.
Tips and common mistakes
Upload only photos you are fine sending to a third-party site, and delete them from the site afterwards if it offers that.
Keep the original HEIC files until you have checked the JPGs, since conversion can lower quality slightly.
Use Shift-click for a range of files or Ctrl-click (Cmd-click on Mac) to pick single files out of order.
If your browser blocks the zip download, allow downloads for the site or try another browser.
Questions
Why did I get a zip file instead of single JPGs?
The site bundles multiple converted images into one zip to make downloading easier. Unzip it and your JPGs are in the converted folder.
Does converting change the photo quality?
JPG uses lossy compression, so there can be a small quality drop. Keep your original HEIC files as a backup.
Can I convert HEIC files on Windows too?
Yes. The conversion happens in the browser, so it works the same on Windows, Mac or Linux as long as you can open the site.
